ORD

The Office of Research and Development, formerly known as the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs and Research Development, was established on February 1, 2007(ROC Year 96). It initially comprised three units: the Academic Development Division, the Academic Cooperation Division, and the Education Research Center.

Subsequently, on August 1, 2010(ROC Year 99), the Academic Cooperation Division and the Education Research Center were renamed the International Affairs Division and the Industry-Academia Collaboration Division, respectively. On January 1, 2014 (ROC Year 103), the Innovation Incubation Center was added. On August 1 of the same year, the office was renamed the “Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs and Research Development.”

In response to evolving operational needs, an organizational restructuring was implemented effective February 1, 2026(ROC Year 115), whereby the original office was reorganized into two separate offices: the Office of Research and Development and the Office of International Affairs. The Office of Research and Development now comprises three units: the Academic Development Division, the Industry-Academia Collaboration Division, and the Innovation Incubation Division.

Division of Academic Development

·        Editing and publishing academic journals and school newsletters.

·        Handling applications and related matters for faculty and student projects funded by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC).

·        Handling subsidies for academic activities and awards/grants for academic papers.

·        Processing applications for various research projects.

·        Handling incentives and subsidies for faculty academic activities.

Division of Industry-Academia Collaboration

·        Promoting government-subsidized or commissioned projects.

·        Promoting industry-academia collaboration projects.

·        Handling domestic and international patent applications and maintenance.

·        Handling matters related to technology transfer and assignment.

·        Handling the management and evaluation of academic research centers.

Innovation Incubation Center

·        Handling matters such as enterprise review, residency, contract signing, and guidance.

·        Organizing professional training courses and seminars.

·        Holding product launch and exhibition events.
